About Us
VAHers began in Amsterdam, born from the chance meeting of two women passionate about AI and machine learning who crossed paths while working at Uber. What started as conversations over coffee about navigating the tech world soon grew into a shared vision: a community where women could learn from each other, feel supported, and amplify their voices in technology. From that spark, VA Hers was created — a space to connect, grow, and inspire women in tech.
Hi, I’m Andreea! Originally from Romania, I moved to Amsterdam four years ago to study Artificial Intelligence. My passion for tech started in high school when I followed a computer science program. Although I faced setbacks, like struggling in competitions such as the Olympiads, I rediscovered my drive when I joined an AI hackathon for women. Seeing how AI can shape the world and hearing the inspiring journeys of other women in tech made me confident that I truly belong in this field.
Alongside finishing my degree, I worked in operations at a large company, and later shifted toward a more technical role. Now, as I complete my Master’s in AI and prepare for my next step in tech, I’ve realized how crucial mentorship and support from other women have been for me. Knowing how impactful this is, I want to help create a safe space where women in tech can connect, inspire each other, and grow together.
Hey! I’m Vicky. I was born and raised in Greece and moved to Amsterdam about 3.5 years ago. My journey in tech started with a Computer Science degree at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, and in 2023 I completed my Master’s in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at Aristotle University. Today, I work as a Regional Operations Manager at Uber, where I get to combine my love for technology with real-world impact.
Beyond my career, I’m deeply passionate about creating spaces where women in tech feel supported, celebrated, and empowered. That’s why I’m so excited about building VA Hers — a safe and inspiring community where women can connect, grow, and lift each other up
